Two Ghanaian researchers want National Accreditation Board Dissolved Two Ghanaian researchers have called for the immediate dissolution of the National Accreditation Board. According to them, the Board has failed woefully in its duties in terms of monitoring and supervising institutions awarding degrees and other certificates in Ghana. This follows a research they conducted which revealed that a number of high profile Ghanaians including politicians, university lecturers, traditional rulers and top police officers have received fake academic and honorary degrees from these unaccredited institutions. However, the National Accreditation Board has dismissed calls for its dissolution. The Executive Secretary of the Board, Kwame Dattey, said there is no basis for such a call. He told Radio Ghana that it is not true that there are unaccredited institutions which are awarding degrees in the country. Mr. Dattey, said the institutions listed by the two Ghanaian scholars as having awarded fake degrees to Ghanaians are not based in the country and the Board has no jurisdiction over such foreign institutions.
