Parliament approves 2016 supplementary budget 

This year's supplementary estimates of government have been approved by Parliament. 

This means government has been given the green light to spend an additional 1.8 billion cedis to finance government's operations in the 2016 financial year. 

Rounding up the debate for its approval, the majority leader Alban Bagbin, said government had a case in requesting for additional funds. 

He said government has proven over the period that money allocated is judiciously used.

The minority leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said several promises by government have not materialised and so wondered why government needed more money to spend.
