Let's play our roles to ensure peaceful election – Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso

The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God-Ghana, Rev Dr Paul Frimpong-Manso has joined calls on the Electoral Commission to exhibit fairness as it prepares to organize this year’s general election. 

According to him, the International community is watching Ghana and there is a critical need for the EC to ensure that the results of the election go down well with all parties involved. 

Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso was speaking at the opening of the 28th Biennial Council of the Church in Ho. 

He therefore charged the EC, political parties and other stakeholders to play their roles to ensure peaceful election. 

Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso also urged the media, traditional leaders and Civil Society Organisations to actively play their roles to ensure that the nation continues to enjoy peace and security before, during and after the December polls. 

He also encouraged the leadership of the Church to remain non-partisan as they serve diverse groups and pray for the nation. 

The General Superintendent of Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, Rev Dave Wells, who was the Guest Speaker called on leaders to let their actions be guided by truth and humility at all times. 

The Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Francis Ganyaglo, in a goodwill message commended the church for its contribution towards national development. 

The event which brought together the executive membership of the Church nationwide was also used to launch the Assemblies of God Educational Unit.
