Liquidation of WAMCO begins

The Board of West African Mills Company, WAMCO in Takoradi has commenced official Liquidation of the company. 

A Deputy Minister of Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson said this in Parliament in answer to a question posed by the MP for Takoradi, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah on when WAMCO will re-0pen for operation after more than two years of closure. 

Mr. Forson said it will be after the liquidation that workers entitlement can be paid them. WAMCO is a public private entity with government having 40 percent share in it.

Mr. Okyere Darko-Mensah has however, appealed to government to show greater commitment to make the company run.
