The Ghanaian Times commends President Mahama's initiative, urging the youth especially University graduates to be self-dependent by exploring the many jobs in the country. The paper attributes the high unemployment rate to unavailability of jobs in the country. It says it has no doubts that the youth has the ability to create jobs by themselves and urges government to create a youth mentorship forum for the young graduates to learn at the feet of successful Ghanaians who would share their ideas.

Curbing challenges of spoilt ballots is how the Graphic captions its editorial. The paper says though Ghana's democracy is taking roots, the phenomenon of spoilt ballots recorded at elections has become an issue for key stakeholders to grapple with. The Graphic recognises the need for political parties to as a matter of urgency use their giant platforms to mount sustained education to curb the challenge and boost their chances in elections and the NCCE must also intensify its education. It believes the EC has a duty to ensure that the number of rejected ballot is reduced to the barest minimum.

The Daily Heritage is worried at the absence of manifestoes by the two major parties in the country with barely four months to elections. It says the NDC and the NPP so far have given flimsy excuses to justify the delay in releasing the document for scrutiny before December 7. The paper urges these parties to make their manifestoes available as quickly as possible to enable the electorates to make informed choices.

The Today Newspaper says out of the 56,772 people who were affected by the deletion of NHIS card holders from the voters’ register only 22,107 had registered by July 27. The paper says the EC has served notice to the effect that there will be no extension. The paper however believes extension will rather afford affected NHIS registrants another opportunity to register. It therefore believes after the second chance there will be no cause for alarm. It therefore urges the EC to heed calls to extend the re-registration date to avoid a situation where many Ghanaians would be disenfranchised.
