Turkey detains 11 involved in bid to 'kidnap' Erdogan Turkish Special Forces have captured 11 soldiers suspected to be involved in a bid to seize President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during last month's failed coup attempt. The 11 soldiers were caught in the Ula district of Mugla province after Special Forces were sent to the area after a tip-off. Gunfire broke out as the Special Forces clashed with the fugitives, but there were no reports of casualties. The soldiers were part of a group that launched an attack on a hotel where the President was on a holiday. 37 soldiers were reportedly involved in the operation but the state media reports that 25 of them are already in custody.
