The Daily Graphic discusses the midyear review budget presented to Parliament Monday by the Finance Minister. It notes that inspite of the myriad challenges that the country is grappling with, some aspects of the budget indicate a positive trend as far as management of the economy is concerned. The Graphic however believes economic management in an era when the global economic situation is unfavourable, makes it imperative for managers of the economy to be more innovative in their solutions to the challenges. The Graphic is optimistic about the future and calls on all to support government in its efforts to turn the economy around. These include the current power crisis and the difficulties within industrial sector. 

The Ghanaian Times is concerned with the behaviour of political parties which incite violence in communities amid a politically charged season. It is against this background that the paper backs the warning issued by the Northern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah to trouble makers in the region. According to the paper, some individuals in the region take advantage of political developments to cause trouble, something DCOP Yeboah says the police would crack the whip to end. The paper notes that this is not the first time high ranking security officials have issued such warnings in the run up to this year's election, saying the Chief of the Defense Staff, Air Marshal Samson-Oje, IGP John Kudalor and several others have already sounded the warning.
