Upper East: Over 1000 rendered homeless after torrential rains

More than one thousand people have been rendered homeless in the Upper East Region following torrential rains that hit the region last Wednesday(July 20). 

Most roads are now unmotorable because major bridges connecting the towns have been affected.  

A tour of the region by Deputy Minister of the Interior, James Agalga, the Upper East Minister, Albert Abongo and some officials revealed that large tracts of farmland have been destroyed while businesses have come to a standstill.  

Our Upper East Regional Correspondent reports that the team moved to the eastern part of the region where the situation there is worse.
