Parliament vets Peace and conflict expert, Emmanuel Bombande Peace and conflict relations expert, Emmanuel Bombande has been vetted by the Appointments committee of Parliament for the Deputy Foreign Affairs minister. For more than two hours, his views were sought on peace building, conflict management, regional integration youth employment and a few more topics. He said ECOWAS needs to muscle up greater political will to move the West African block to the next level. Mr. Bombande said taking an appointment in government will not dent his image as an expert since he has since transitioned from the CSO to the UN. He said he has since held the values of a social democrat but this notwithstanding, his quest for peaceful co-existence will not change. Touching on youth unemployment, Mr. Bombande said agriculture holds the key to the solution. On the elections, Mr. Bombande said he was optimistic the security services are up to the task especially in ensuring border security. GBC
