First ECOWAS Industrial Summit underway in Accra

Business executives and members of the Diplomatic Corps from West Africa are attending the first ECOWAS Industrial Summit in Accra.

In an opening address, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Ekow Spio-Garbrah, challenged participants to initiate programmes and policies to strengthen the sub-region's macro enterprises to make entrepreneurs globally competitive.

He also stressed the need to develop an intra-community energy pool to accelerate industrialisation.
