IT Consultant, Bryan Acheampong wins Abetifi by-elections The calm night streets of Abetifi was thrown into celebrations after the declaration of Bryan Acheampong, a 43 year- old Information and Technology Consultant as the winner of the Abetifi by-elections on Saturday night. Bryan who contested the elections as a candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) polled 14,015 votes representing 89.97 per cent of the total votes cast. Kenneth Nikoi Kotey, the candidate for the United Front Party (UFP), had 406 votes, representing 2.65 per cent, Professor Edmund Ofori Nkansah for the Conventional Peoples Party (CPP) candidate had 439, which represented 2.52 per cent and Madam Vida Konadu Ennin, a candidate for the Independent Peoples Party (IPP) had 469, representing 3.91 per cent. The total votes cast was 16,829 and 248 votes were rejected while the total turnout was 35.55 per cent Happy Bryan in a victory speech promised to work diligently to ensure total development of the area.
