14th July, 2016 The Daily Graphic praises government for fulfilling its pledge to patronize locally manufactured products. The paper is of the view that government, as the biggest spender, stands the greatest chance of helping local companies to stand on their feet to provide jobs for the people and also pay more taxes to help grow state finances. It entreats the government to consider buying in bulk some other Ghanaian products, such as rice for government schools and prisons to help reduce the huge import bill on rice. The Ghanaian Times believes the EC is gradually paving the way to conduct this year's election which must be supported by all. The paper hopes all those who had doubts about the capability of the EC to conduct a free and fair election are now satisfied with the steps so far taken by the Commission. The Times appeals to Ghanaians to support the EC to carry out its mandate. It encourages the EC to continue to dialogue with stakeholders with the view to building consensus and moving the process forward. GBC
