We Ordered Removal Of NHIS Card Holders - Supreme Court Judge A Supreme Court Judge, Justice Jones Dotse, has emphasized that the use of NHIS cards in the registration of voters is unconstitutional. Speaking on the sidelines of a training programme for some selected Judges and Magistrates in Accra, Justice Dotse said the Supreme Court's judgement on the Abu Ramadan suit was emphatic on the elimination of persons who used NHIS cards to register in the voters' register. Early this month, the Supreme Court in its judgement on the suit challenging the validity of the current voters register, ordered the Electoral Commission to delete names of unqualified persons and those who registered with NHIS cards from the register. The court also ordered that persons whose names are deleted should be given the opportunity to re-register. The EC however says it will not remove names of persons who registered with NHIS cards. GBC
