Disaster taskforces to be set up in flood prone areas

NADMO is to set up disaster taskforces in areas which are prone to floods. 

The taskforces will be made up of representatives from the Police and other Security Services. 

Medical teams from the 37 Military Hospital and the Police hospital will be on hand to help disaster and flood victims anytime there is such an occurrence. 

The Director of Operations of NADMO, Winfred Tesia, revealed this after the Deputy Minister for the Interior, James Agalga, NADMO officials and representatives of the Military undertook an aerial assessment of Accra following Saturday night's downpour which lasted throughout the night. 

The Deputy Minister of the Interior, James Agalga said government is working hard to prevent an occurrence such as the June 3 disaster.
