The Daily Graphic urges Ghanaians to change their attitude towards the environment in order to avoid unwarranted flood. The paper believes as individuals contributing to the best of the nation people have to learn from past events to avert flood disasters. The Graphic commends the AMA for dredging the Odaw River to ensure free flow of water. The paper says empathy and sympathy that go out to victims when flood disasters occur cannot in any way atone for the loses that families who have left breadwinners suffer. Therefore reactionary steps should be taken to avert flood disasters. 

The Ghanaian Times supports proposals to change the date for election from December 7 to November 7. According to the paper, this will provide enough time for a run off in case none of the political parties is able to gather enough votes to win the election. The paper argues that although there is limited time for the proposal to be implemented, it will allow enough time for a smooth and harmonious handing over from one government to the other. The Times urges law makers in the country to descend from their partisan horses and support the process, bearing in mind that it is all in the nation's interest.
