Ghana's gender minister bemoans security implication of youth unemployment

The Minister for Gender and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur says one major challenge facing African countries today is youth unemployment. 

And Ghana’s concern is even more heightened, as the World Bank pegs her youth unemployment rate at 48 percent. 

This, she admits has security implications, hence the need to pay more attention to prioritizing investment in the country’s youth. 

Nana Oye Lithur was addressing one of Ministers’ forums at the ongoing ‘Women Deliver 2016’ conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.
