Persons with Albinism commission ambassadors The Ghana Association of Persons with Albinism has commissioned some Ambassadors to advocate for the rights of persons living with albinism and to reduce their stigmatisation. The Ambassadors, mainly Journalists and persons living with albinism, were selected from various parts of the country. The Association called on government to look into cases of inhuman treatment meted out to its members. It said violence such as torture, discrimination and killing or murdering of albinos occur in some parts of the country, especially the Brong-Ahafo and Eastern regions. In most cases, people with this kind of genetic condition are considered as bad omen in some communities. An Advocacy Officer with the Association, Adam Abdul Wahab made the call at a media briefing to launch this year's International Albinism Day slated for the 13th of June. GBC
