Political parties express mixed reactions about just ended Limited Voter Registration


There have been mixed reactions from the political parties about the just ended limited voters' registration exercise.
 
While some believe the exercise was largely successful, others believe it was fraught with significant challenges. 

The Director of Elections of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo lauded the EC for what he describes as a successful exercise. 

He rejected calls for the extension of the registration period. 

The Director of Communications of  the NPP, Nana Akomea, said the exercise had major challenges which the EC must resolve.  

He said as the first step, the EC must convene an IPAC meeting.

The General-Secretary of the PNC, Atik Mohammed called for an extension of the registration period.

The National Youth Organiser of the CPP, Ernesto Yeboah claimed there was organised registration of some ineligible applicants in some areas, especially the Jomoro constituency.

The Founder and Leader of the United Progressive Party. Akwasi Addae, also known as Odike, accused the NPP and the NDC of engaging in irregularities during the registration exercise.  

He however rejected calls for the extension of the period. 

The Founder and Leader of the United Democratic Party, Yaw Kumey, said the time allocated for the registration exercise was not adequate.  

He therefore appeals to the EC to consider an extension.


GBC
