EL adjudged 2016 Artiste of the Year

Rapper and BBnZ act, E.L was the biggest winner at 2016 Ghana Music Awards taking home a total of five awards including the top most ‘Artiste of the Year.’ 

Other top winners for the night included Sarkodie and Bisa Kdei with four awards each. 

The event which is in its 17th year was held at the Accra International Conference Center. 

Other winners were VVIP ft Sena Dagadu for Collaboration of the Year, Kofi Kinaata won Song Writer of the Year and Best New Artiste of the Year, while Gospel Song of the Year went to Nicholas Omane Acheampong for his hot gospel song, Aposor. 

Hip life Song of the Year was awarded to Yewo Krom by Atom and Gospel Artiste of the Year went to SP Kofi Sarpong. 

MzVee took home the Best Female Vocalist of the Year ward while Best Male Vocalist of the Year went to Pat Thomas. 

Performers for the night included Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Efya, EL, R2Bees, Wizkid, Joe Mettle and Adomaa. 

Nigeria's Wizkid was African Artiste of the Year. The event was hosted by Chris Attoh, DJ Black and Naa Ashorkor.
