Governance Expert on NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman Case During the week the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Antwi Boasiako was reported to have assaulted the sitting MP of Manhyia. Supporters of the Chairman besieged the Kumasi Central Police Station demanding his release. Later, the National Executive of the NPP called for the withdrawal of the case for out of Court settlement. Radio Ghana finds out from a Governance Expert if this is the way to go. First a spokesperson on Governance, Dr. Clement Apaak said the development in Ashanti where a Regional Chairman could assault a sitting MP but would be left off the hook by withdrawing the case is shocking. He told Radio Ghana that the drama is not a good example in modern day politics and indeed a dark spot in Ghana's evolution as a democratic country. GBC
