Suspended NPP Chairman says he is still at post despite party's decision The suspended National Chairman of the NPP, Paul Afoko says he is still at post despite the party's decision. He however claims unconstitutional impediments have restrained him from performing his duties. Mr. Afoko said this during cross examination at the Human Rights Court where the suspended Second Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe has sued the party for wrongfully suspending him. Mr. Afoko giving evidence in the case debunked an assertion by Counsel for the NPP, Godfred Yeboah Odame that he was not privy to the decision to suspend Mr. Crabbe because at that time he was not at post. Mr. Odame also challenged claims by Mr Afoko that prior to his election as National Chairman, he was a member of the National Council. According to Mr. Afoko, he was appointed to the Council by the then Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP, Agnes Chigabatia. But the Lawyer made reference to the party's constitution saying it does not permit Regional Executives to appoint persons as members of the National Council. The suit has been adjourned to the 10th of this month. GBC
