Open Defecation in Ghana Open Defecation is a menace in Ghana. The Country is ranked the 7th in the practice of open defecation and sanitation in the World. Available data revealed that one in five Ghanaians uses Ghana as a toilet, defecating in the bush, at the beach and in drains. The three regions in the North topped the pack of regions where the menace is widespread. The Country envisaged an Open Defecation Free Society by 2020 as captured in the Ghana Sanitation and Water for All Policy. What has been the progress so far?
