President Mahama to inaugurate $35m multi purpose Cape Coast Stadium Tuesday evening President John Dramani Mahama will Tuesday evening inaugurate the 35 million dollar multipurpose Cape Coast Stadium in the Central Region. The 15,000 capacity stadium is expected to be named after the late President Prof. John Evans Atta Mills. It has a fully furnished 21 hostel accommodation,fully equipped separate halls for table tennis and boxing, two basket ball courts, one handball court and one tennis court and tartan tacks for athletics. The Chinese government which funded the stadium project will refurbish the facility after five years. In 2012, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the government of Ghana and that of China for the construction. There will be an inaugural match between the two countries to be witnessed by President Mahama and a delegation of the Chinese government. The match will be played under flood light. Meanwhile, President Mahama will begin his ''Accounting to the People Tour'' to the Central Region tomorrow. The President has been using the tour to inspect on going projects, inaugurate completed ones and also cut the sod for new ones. He also uses the tour to explain government's policies and programmes and the state of the economy. President Mahama will round up the tour of the region on Friday. GBC
