Bunso Arboretum Canopy Walkway to reopen in March The Bunso Arboretum Canopy Walkway in the East Akim Municipality which collapsed resulting in the injuries of patrons and the closure of the facility by the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council to enable the authority will be reopened next month. In an interview with Radio Ghana, the Site Manager, Baffoe Peprah, said the Ghana Standard Authority has given their approval for the Walkway to be reopened and the Ghana Tourism Authority has also given them the certification for operation after the Ghana Institute of Engineers inspected the site and certified the facility. On the issue of preventive measures put in place to prevent any future occurrences, he said a new mechanism known as the stopper has been put in place to avoid any misfortune. He further said his outfit will also adhere to measures put in place by the committee that was set up by the Regional Coordinating Council. With regards to insuring the facility, he said the site has been fully insured by Star Assurance Company and the premium is GH¢25,000 annually. The Accountant of the Bunso Arboretum Canopy Walkway, Eric Asare, appealed to the public to patronize the facility since adequate preventive measures have been put in place to avoid the collapse of the canopy.
