GHS assures Ghanaians of safety from Meningitis virus Head of the Disease Surveillance Department of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Franklin Asiedu Bekoe, has assured Ghanaians that the country is safe from the meningitis virus. He says contrary to the misconception that there is an outbreak of the disease, that is not true. He noted that more than one thousand cases of meningitis are reported yearly on the average in the country therefore Ghanaians ought to be aware of the current hamattan which gives tonic to the virus. Dr. Asiedu Bekoe urged individuals to focus on early reportage of the disease when detected to help control it. GBC
