Organised Labour, Government Likely To Strike Deal – Expert Organized Labour, today led a nationwide demonstration to register its displeasure with the recent increase in utility tariffs and the energy sector levy. Hundreds of demonstrators poured unto the streets of Accra under heavy police protection. The Secretary General of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Kofi Asamoah, on behalf of Organised Labour appealed to government to heed the call of workers to review the increases. Meanwhile, Labour and Mediation Expert, Austin Gamey believes that tomorrow’s dialogue between Organised Labour and government will yield good results with both parties satisfied. To achieve this, Mr Gamey said it behoves government to make available, information regarding its decision as this will help convince organised labour to understand the situation better. He said organsied labour should also not go into a dialogue with threats and ultimatum. GBC
