According to Togbui Afede, Politics hinges on development and not just winning elections. Togbui Afede, stated these when President Mahama and Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, called on him at his Palace to climax the two day Ministerial retreat at Ho in the Volta region. He again pledged the regions total commitment to government in the upcoming elections. This is the first time the Ministerial retreat has been sent to the regions and as custom demands, the President needed to pay a courtesy call on the Chief on whose land the retreat took place. Togbui Afede and the other Chiefs warmly received the President, the Vice and other government officials. He particularly commended the efforts of the Volta regional minister Hellen Ntoso, in restoring peace to Nkonya and Alavanyo. Togbui Afede was happy about developments in the region mentioning the opening of the rehabilitated Adomi Bridge, the University of Health and Allied Sciences, the seven hundred kilometer Eastern corridor road, Aerodrome amongst others. Not losing sight of the fact that there is pressure on the national kitty especially in an election year Togbe Afede, requested that government pays attention to the deplorable roads in the Ho Township and other projects dear to the heart of the people.
