EC Chairperson describes court threat against her as “interesting”


The Chairperson of Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs. Charlotte Osei has dared a Pro-New Patriotic Party, (NPP) group to go to court after the group claimed the Commissioner breached the constitution by holding another job.

The pressure group Progressive Nationalist Forum is therefore demanding the resignation of Mrs. Osei.

According to the group, Mrs. Charlotte Osei as the EC, Commissioner, was also a board member of the Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited.

However, the EC chairperson on an Accra based FM radio news analysis program, “News-file” on Saturday said, persons who felt she violated the constitution should take the matter to court.

Describing the claim as “interesting”, Madam Osei said, she “hoped that whoever made this application will file a petition, we will respond when we get there.”
