EC boss resigned as GRC director in Dec 2015 - GRCL Secretary 


The Secretary of Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited Jessica Allotey has explained that the Chairperson of Electoral Commission, Mrs. Charlotte Osei, is no longer a director of the company.

According to Mad. Allotey, Mrs. Osei resigned as director in December 2015.

Madam Jessica Allotey, made the revelation, on Thursday afternoon, following a call by a political pressure group, Progressive Nationalist Forum that Madam Osei should resign as EC chair since she was keeping a second job as a board member of the Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited.

“I can confirm to you that as at 7th January that is today’s date she is no longer a member of Ghana Reinsurance board.” the company secretary told an Accra-based Radio in an interview.

The Progressive Nationalist Forum has demanded that Charlotte Osei should resign as EC chair, claiming she was keeping a second job as a board member of Ghana Re, which it said was a breach of the constitution since the chairperson of the EC cannot hold a second public office.
