Majority Leader says corruption has affected all institutions in Ghana

The Majority Leader in Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin says corruption has affected all institutions in the country.

According to him, Parliament is a human institution and cannot be looked at differently. 

He told Radio Ghana that what needs to be done is how to contain it. 

He said the House has instituted a code of ethics which must be rigorously implemented. 

Mr Bagbin said Prof Addai's allegation cannot be swept under the carpet so he must be invited to help the House to investigate the allegation.

Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary of Ghana Integrity Initiative, Vitus Azeem, says Professor Addai's allegation of bribery and corruption in parliament remains a mere allegation until proven to be true. 

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr Azeem called on parliament to reflect on these levels of allegations instead of always coming out to condemn and threaten those who make them.

He also called on parliament to set up a committee of enquiry to investigate the allegation.
