Two Takoradi journalists injured in accident responding to treatment

The PRO of Ghana Education Service, Rev Jonathan Bettey says one of the journalists involved in the accident near Takoradi is responding to treatment at the hospital. 

Speaking to Radio Ghana after visiting the journalist Tuesday morning, Rev Bettey said Deputy Minister of Education, Okudzeto Ablakwa and the Chief Director Enoch Cobbinah were also on hand to ensure that maximum care was provided the victim. 

A group of journalists from Takoradi who travelled to Bameanko in the Nzema area of the Western region to cover the commissioning of a community senior high school was on Monday evening involved in an accident on their way back.

Two of them, named as Nana Yaw Obrempong, who reports for Accra based Citi FM, and one Ebo, a cameraman for Viasat1 TV, were injured.

“Ebo has since been treated and discharged, but Obrempong, who was said to have sustained a serious fracture in the leg, may be discharged in Tuesday afternoon or taken to the X-ray after which he will come home,” Rev Bettey added.
