CSSPS to release posting of schools for BECE candidates

Officials of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System, CSSPS say although the cancellation and rescheduling of some papers in the 2014/2015 Basic Education Certificate Examinations has delayed its activities, it will fully go through all the laid down processes before posting the students. 

According to the Systems Administrator of the CSSPS, Kwasi Anokye, candidates who sat for the BECE have already been given a stipulated period to verify their choices of four second cycle institutions.

That process, he explained, is to help the candidates identify and notify authorities on any unexpected changes and irregularities for corrections to be effected. 

Mr. Anokye noted that the next process is for the system’s data to be cross checked alongside the verified schools for onward processes before the final stage of postings. 

He noted also that like the previous year, postings will this year be done in batches. 

This however include candidates who sat for the previous academic year and later opted to be part of the 30 per cent quota specifically reserved for those closer to the various schools in their communities, but were not able to enroll due to reasons ranging from health to financial. 

It will as well include candidates who for the first time sat for and passed the private BECE. 

On the BECE results which were recently released online, the Systems Administrator urged all those who have not checked to do so, as they await the schools they have been posted to.
