President Mahama Reiterates Government's Determination To Maintain Strict Fiscal Discipline To Stabilize Economy President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his government's determination to maintain strict fiscal discipline to stabilize the macro economy and stimulate growth and development. President Mahama was speaking at the 70th UN General Assembly in New York. On the Energy crisis in Ghana, he said his government is working to add 3,500 megawatts of power to ensure energy sufficiency for industry and domestic use. President Mahama also lauded the US and Cuba for normalising their relations. This, he said, is a significant step towards patching their differences. Meanwhile, energy expert, Francis Agbenyo says the Mahama led government has so far done well to add more megawatts to the energy generation mix. Mr Agbenyo was reacting to President Mahama's address on the energy situation at the UN General Assembly in New York. He said the systematic additions to energy generation every year will improve supply adding that Ghana's future depends on energy because it will increase productivity. GBC
