Local salt miners at Ada threaten to resist ejection Local salt miners at the Sorngor Lagoon say they will resist any attempt by the Sorngor Salt Management Committee to eject them from their mining site. The indigenous miners claim that the area in question does not belong to the Company, they will therefore resist any attempt to eject them. Speaking to Radio Ghana at Sege, the Chairman of the Sorngor Salt Project, Colonel Jacob Dortey , said the local miners are encroaching on their land thereby negatively affecting operations on the Project. Colonel Dortey insisted that it is about time the encroachers are ejected from the area. He said the Company will seek a Court order to eject them, should the encroachers refuse to heed to the advice of the Paramount Chief of the Ada Traditional Area, Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku, who doubles as the president of the Greater Accra Regional House of chiefs.
