Cape Coast: SSNIT begins registration of retired workers 

The Central Regional branch of the Pensioners Association in collaboration with the Social Security and National Insurance Trust, SSNIT, has registered and issued SSNIT ID cards to some pensioners in Cape Coast. 

According to the branch manager, Alex Appiah, the new initiative is to take the biometric registration to the homes of the retired workers who are bedridden.

This is to relieve them of the challenges of moving to the SSNIT offices. 

The beneficiary pensioners who could not hide their joy about the intervention by SSNIT, have also called for an upward adjustment of their monthly allowance.
