Farmers in Tono irrigation area abandon tomato farming due to lack of market The President of the Tono Irrigation Project, Ahmed Bogobiri, says even though the farmers in the irrigation project catchment area have made progress over the years, several of the farmers have abandoned tomato production for lack of market. Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr Bogobiri said some NGOs are however helping the farmers to go into rice production. He said farmers are lucky the rains have started, adding that they expect more from government to enable to them go into tomato and vegetable production. GBC
