Agricultural Sector provides the potential for job creation - CSIR Principal Research Officer at the CSIR in the Northern Region Dr. Roger Kanton also says the Agricultural Sector provides the potential for job creation for graduates and the youth. Speaking to Radio Ghana, Dr. Kanton said the CSIR has again released other improved varieties of Millet which is also a foreign exchange earner. Graduates and the unemployed should therefore venture into the sector to make money. In a related development, the President of the Central University College Prof. Kwesi Yankah over the weekend predicted an increase in the number of graduates who will be out of school without employment. The statistics seemed frightening but other technocrats think otherwise. The National Programme Coordinator of Ghana Agricultural Sector Investment Project, GASIP Roy Ayariga said God made Agriculture is a profitable business yet the youth are shying away from it. He said Ghanaian Graduates should not always look to Government for employment. According to him, irrigated agriculture and animal husbandry can give more than half of the graduates employment. GBC
