Two institutions donate towards GJA Awards

The President of the GJA, Affail Monney has asked the media to de-politicise the energy crisis and partner experts in finding solutions to the situation. 

He stressed the need for journalists to focus on the crisis and desist from reporting irrelevant issues which will not benefit the country. 

Mr Monney said this when the GJA received donations worth ¢19,000.00 from two institutions, Voltic Mineral Water Company and Wilmar Africa Limited in support of its awards night. 

The donations are for the categories on Environmental and Health reporting and Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Awards. 

Mr Monney appealed for more support from other corporate bodies for the awards night which serves as a motivation for journalists.

David Dzomeku, who is the District Manager for Voltic Mineral Water Company which is sponsoring the Health and Environment award, said the donation is to deepen its partnership with the GJA.      

The General Manager of Wilmar Africa, Sena Suri, commended the media for the watch dog and development roles they are playing in the country.
