The Daily Heritage calls for investigations into the alleged sexual abuse of pupils at Ho Airfield Basic School in the Volta Region, exposed by an NGO, PAGUS. The paper is worried about the allegation that at least 10 girls were sexually assaulted by the male teachers at different times in the school. The Daily Heritage is saddened that officials of GES and Chiefs in the community are rather attacking the NGO which built the school for exposing such heinous abuse of the pupils to the media. The Paper urges the authorities to protect the pupils and punish the errant teachers. 

The Today Newspaper expresses worry over why some children do not report abuses against them. The Paper says cases of defilement are even more serious than rape and perpetrators should be dealt with accordingly regardless of their position in society. The Paper urges stakeholder agencies such as DOVVSU and NGOs to educate parents and daughters to defy threats and report defilers, and rapist. The Paper however concedes that the manner in which defilement and rape cases have been handled in the past have contributed to the lack of willingness of victims to report such incidents.
