EC Warns District Assembly Candidates The Electoral Commission, EC, has warned that it will cancel the nomination of any district assembly candidate who uses the name, motto, colour or symbol associated with a political party. The Commission said its decision is premised on the District Level Elections Regulations, 2015, CI 89, which stipulates that district level elections should be non-partisan. A statement signed by the Deputy Chairman of the EC, in charge of Operations, Amadu Sulley, reminds candidates that Regulation 41b allows a candidate to show only the name and photograph on his or her poster.
