Avenor: AMA demolishes unauthorised structures along railway line The Accra Metropolitan Assembly, AMA, has pulled down more structures blocking water ways in the capital. The latest are the structures along the railway line at Avenor. The exercise forms part of efforts by the Assembly to prevent continuous flooding in the Metropolis. When our news team arrived at the scene, excavators were pulling down all illegal structures along the railway line. The area is known for the sale of spare parts and the dealers who ply their trade in the area were not spared from the exercise. While some of the victims were busily salvaging what was left in the debris, others lamented claiming, the notice given to them by the AMA was too short. GBC
