EC says all is set for tomorrow's by-election at Talensi The EC says it is adequately prepared for tomorrow's by-election in Talensi, in the Upper East Region. It says all election materials including verification devices for the conduct of the election are ready. The Upper East Regional Director of the Commission, James Arthur Yeboah who spoke to Radio Ghana, assured the public that the EC will ensure a free and fair election. Meanwhile there is heavy security in Talensi to help maintain law and order ahead of the by-election. The PRO of the Upper East Regional Police Command, ASP Thomas Agbenyo told Radio Ghana that two policemen will be stationed at every polling station while there will be patrol teams to arrest people who will try to disrupt the election. In a related development, a Political Scientist, Dr. Aggrey Darko says it is too simplistic for any political party to conclude that winning the Talensi by-election is a yard stick to wining next year's general elections. He told Radio Ghana that the by-election is a critical one, adding that politicians should not be too hopeful. Dr. Aggrey-Darko said it is normal for politicians to convince the electorate by using campaign messages that will give hope to their supporters. GBC
