President Mahama Visits Nsawam Prisons To Ascertain Conditions There President Mahama has promised to ensure that the decongestion of the Nsawam Prison is done in earnest, with the aim to restore dignity to prisoners. President Mahama said the prison has a capacity for 800 but now houses 3,500 inmates. He described the situation as worrying. This is President Mahama's first visit since he became President. His visit is also part of the ‘Effiase Project’ which is aimed among other things to raise funds to expand and improve conditions at the prisons. GBC
