President Mahama asks three MDCEs to step aside President John Mahama has asked three Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) from the Western Region to step aside. They are, Jomoro DCE, Sylvester D. Nuamah, Takoradi MCE, Captain Anthony Cudjoe and Tarkwa MCE, Mrs Christiana Cobbinah. According to a statement from the Presidency, President Mahama took the decision “based on Article 243 and 246 of the 1992 Constitution. They have also been directed to handover to the Regional Minister, Paul Evans Aidoo on the 30th of this month. Though no reasons have been given, Radio Ghana gathers that in the case of the MCE for Sekondi-Takoradi, Captain Cudjoe, his tenure has expired, and he can no longer stay in office, unless he is re-nominated and approved by the Assembly.
