Declare September 1 As Public Holiday For District Assembly Elections – Antwi-Danso The Acting Executive Director of the Center for Local Governance and Advocacy, Dr. Vladimir Antwi-Danso says September 1 should be declared a public holiday to carry out the District Assembly Elections. He believes awareness and participation during District Assembly Elections have not been encouraging over the years as compared to national elections and this does not augur well for local government democracy and development. He told Radio Ghana that declaring 1st September as a public holiday will not be an annual observation but one that will be necessary when District Assembly Elections are conducted. GBC
