Human Rights Activist charges AMA to give demolition exercise human face

A Human Rights Lawyer and Activist, Francis Xaxier Sosu says though the Accra Metropolitan Assembly has the right to evict slum dwellers at Old Fadama, it has breached the law on the minimum standard on forced evictions.

He said ideally the AMA should give the demolition a human face by engaging the residents. Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr. Sosu said the AMA should have taken into consideration international standards on demolition.

Mr. Sosu said the AMA must be forthright with the people in future demolitions, and be fair as much as possible.
