President Mahama breaks ground for construction of Cocoa Roads in Subin


Feeder roads being constructed under governments Cocoa Roads Rehabilitation project will be tarred, a departure from what feeder roads were in the past. 

President John Mahama, made this known when he cut the sod for work to start on the 24 kilometer Ataase Nkwanta-Owusukrom roads, five kilometres of New Edubiase town roads in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti region and Bekwai town roads. 

Furthermore, the deplorable Dompoase road which used to be under the Government of Ghana budget has now been put under the Cocoa Roads project to ensure efficiency. 

The Cocoa Roads Rehabilitation Project is an initiative under the Ghana Cocoa Board to invest one hundred and fifty million dollars annually over a period of five years to construct feeder roads in Cocoa growing areas across the country.
                           
President Mahama, also used the occasion to caution Cocoa Farmers against unscrupulous Purchasing Clerks who make profit at their expense. He asked the Farmers to report persons who come to the towns to sell farm inputs, Fertilizers and seedlings to  them. 

According to him, these inputs and fertilizers are meant to be distributed free of change to the Cocoa farmers and they must make it a point to report such characters to the police or Cocoa Board Officials for appropriate action to be taken.
