Health Ministry begins public education on Ebola vaccine trial

The Ministry of Health has begun public sensitisation and education on the controversial Ebola vaccine trial in Ghana. 

The Health Ministry and the Food and Drugs Authority were said to have given approval for a clinical trial of Ebola vaccines in Hohoe in the Volta Region.

But the planned exercise met stiff opposition from residents of the region and the public.

Parliament also suggested a suspension of the exercise.  The Health Minister, Alex Segbefia this week appeared before the House to explain issues surrounding the trial.

The first in the series of public sensitisation is taking place on Thursday in Accra at the Civil Servants conference hall at 2pm.
