President Mahama cuts sod for Cocoa Roads project 

President John Dramani Mahama, has officially cut the sod for work to start on the $150 million Cocoa Roads project across the country at Adeiso in the Eastern region.

The cocoa roads project is an initiative of the Ghana Cocoa Board to invest the amount over a period of five years to reconstruct a number of feeder roads in Cocoa growing areas to enable farmers easy access to transport their produce. 

The President cut the sod for work to start on the Adeiso-Asamankese stretch as well as the Apedwa-Kyebi-Bunso road. 

President Mahama, reiterated the fact that development only abounds when there is peace. 

Cocoa growing areas in parts of the country will benefit from this initiative by the Ghana Cocoa Board. 

President Mahama, stated that good roads are critical to the development of every nation, hence governments determination to ensure that enough funds are dedicated to that sector. 

The President also asked indigenes to put the contractors working on the roads on their toes as money has already been made available for the project. 

He mentioned some towns that will benefit from the Cocoa Road Project in the Eastern region

The Chief of Adeiso in the Upper Akyem District, Osabarima Asare Oduro, was grateful to government for the many development projects being undertaken in the town. 

Last year, President Mahama cut sod for a Community Day School for the town. Osabarima Osare Oduro, assured President Mahma that Adeiso will continue to support any development project by government

President John Mahama, used the opportunity to appeal to cocoa growing areas experiencing Chieftaincy disputes to quickly settle their differences to enable work to start their roads.
