Ghana's forest cover faces extinction 

Ghana's forest cover faces extinction in the next few years if swift action is not taken to reverse illegal logging and trade in timber products.  

The situation does not only pose a danger to the economy, but more importantly to future generations.  

It is against this backdrop that stakeholders in the industry are clamouring for a policy that will address the menace.  

At the close of a workshop for procurement officers in Accra, participants were unanimous in their call to the speedy passage of a law to forestall these challenges.
